AW: Will an Abarth hardtop fit any Spider?
Hi John
Congratulations to the Abarth hard top. The hard top fits I believe on all models, you must dismantle only the soft top and change maybe the rear hooks

Thanks Bodo, it is the rear hooks that are different on the Pininfarina badged cars from 1983 and I wonder if the windscreen ones are also different. Anyone know if this is right?

Interesting! It looks like the Abarth hardtop. What makes you think it's not?

Hi,
Your Hardtop is equiped with silver garnish molding above the doors.
The Abarth one's are without this parts.

I see – so it's a copy? Any idea who made these?

It's a Pininfarina hardtop. I found a reference under Hardtops on the Shaun Folkerts site here:
The first photo of a late model orange 124 also confirms members' answers to my original question – yes, the hardtop will fit any model.
Thanks guys

Hi John,
this is an original Pininfarina - hardtop with a glass rear screen.
Look inside there must be the Pininfarina emblem.
The Abarth hardtop is fitted with a plexi rear screen and only fiberglas without vinyl at the top.

Thanks Sven
I collect it on Thursday, and will confirm if it has the emblem then.

I bought an Abarth hardtop on eBay, and wondering if it'll fit any Spider, or are there later ones eg Pininfarina 1985.5, it will not fit? Is it right there are early and late model frames? What years/models are ok?
I took the chance and bought as soon as it appeared, as they very rarely come up for sale in the UK, and I didn't want to miss it. That's right, I bought the hardtop before I bought the car!
